HOUSE AT MODEL TOWN

630 sq yd. residence full of constraints has been designed by simplifying for unknown solutions using its variables & constants. In simple words we have tried to use the constraints as positive aspects of the residence to achieve a well thought simple plan. The client’s requirement list comprised of Drawing, Dining, Lounge, Kitchen, Guest Bedroom with attached toilets & a bedroom for their handicapped parents on Ground Floor. On First Floor they wanted to have three Bedrooms with attached toilet, Lounge, Pantry & a multipurpose hall with Open Terrace were the requirement on Second Floor.

The first & foremost challenge was to design the residence with its depth as almost four times its frontage. Keeping the movement of client’s parent in mind, level difference between different areas has been avoided. The bedroom for their parents has been kept at extreme end, with direct entry to their room from rear lawn attached to the driveway. Front part of the house has been defined for Drawing Room, with entrance foyer adjacent to it has been kept as a double height space to create grandeur and feeling of openness by keeping staircase block in front of it. The steps of the staircase have been kept cantilevered from wall.
