The community center “Haus Emmaus” consists of three independent parts. The main use as a church with a bell tower is completed by a common room with an own accomodation and a caretaker flat.

“Haus Emmaus” understands its role as an integrated part of the village. It combines local aspects like proportion, volume and building position with a reduced choice of material. As a result its special function in the village shows as an example of contemporary architecture.

Predominantly the simple construction constists of prefabricated timber frames with a facade of larch wood.
All the secondary rooms are situated on the hillside.
