Cottage for Helen Vølstad and Helge Bøe, Kalven, Rosendal.

Situated on the small island Kalven, just out of the dramatic setting of the village Rosendal, in Hardangerfjord, my goal was to captivate the landscape bouth in shape, materials and colours.
The hard and dark mountainpeaks with the soft vegetation down by the fjord.
The main room with its high celing is faceing east, the sunrise, the mountain Melderskin, the village with it`s small castle {the Baronie} and medieval Church, and pointing directly at the waterfall Hattebergfossen.
The brickwalls (leca) runs through the house and the softer parts comes out like vegetation grows in the valley.
The fireplace and the staircase is a reminder of the tuff assymetric landscape and its steap paths.
Within a limited budjet my goal was to make a modern house for that particular place like it`s always been there.
