Description

Borneo Connection is a simple, sobber and elegant building, expressing the character of the site and the owners, but it is also a very comfortable, healthy and independent home, by the deliberate use of natural materials, as for integrating a complete system,including water collection, solar panels and wind turbine, to take advantage from all of the free renewable energies avaiable. The concept of the house derives from their owners, quite opposite but complementary personalities: so, the idea was to combine TRADITION and MODERNITY, using materials like brick,stone and timber, side by side with glass and titanium, but also in terms of shape, combining the straight linearity of dutch design with wavy "unorthodox" curvy lines, what leads to the other perspective of the concept, related to their own idea of the house as their island - a place for retreat and isolation as at the same time a space of connection between land and sea.
