Zaha Hadid and Amsterdam`s UNStudio are to design pavilions to sit at the heart of next year`s celebrations in Chicago marking the 100th anniversary of Daniel Burnham`s famous plan for the city. The two temporary pavilions will become the centrepieces for the Burnham Plan Centennial, which will include hundreds of educational programmes, arts events and open-space projects celebrating the influential 1909 masterplan.   Both buildings will open next June and will include video exhibits `and programming related to Burnham and big dreams for the future`.    Having already achieved fame for masterminding the Chicago World`s Fair – also known as the Colombian Exposition – in the city in 1894, Burnham went on to create a blueprint for Chicago that included opening up the centre to the wider region with highways and railroads, and creating new public spaces and building
