Albert Einstein and Jewish physicists from Poland

On 30 May 2014, at 6:00 pm Prof. Hanoch Gutfreund will deliver a lecture entitled Albert Einstein and Jewish physicists from Poland.

Not many people know that Albert Einstein maintained contacts with Polish Jewish physicists – Leopold Infeld, Myron Mathisson and Ludwik Silberstein. Their collaboration was scientific in nature and impacted the reception of the theory of relativity in Poland. A noticeable Jewish thread also runs through Einstein’s relations with each of the scholars.

Albert Einstein’s contacts with Polish Jewish physicists will be presented by Prof. Hanoch Gutfreund – prominent Israeli physicists, former rector and for many years president of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the keeper of Albert Einstein’s archive and intellectual legacy bequeathed to the Hebrew University.

Lecture in English with simultaneous translation into Polish.

Slide presentation in Polish.

May 30, 6 pm, free admission.
