RIBA seeks architects for affordable-housing competition in Norwich
Architecture News - Aug 25, 2008 - 11:11 4223 views
The RIBA is inviting architects to throw their hats into the ring for an affordable mixed-tenure housing development just outside Norwich city centre.
Organised on behalf on the Delivering Affordable Housing Partnership {DAHP}, the project will involve the design of roughly 100 dwellings which meet the criteria for special-needs housing.
The 1.2ha Greyhound Opening site is currently occupied by a former residential care home, 25 dwellings, a garage, and a commercial workshop.
The successful practice will work as part of a multi-disciplined team led by Oxbury & Company – DAHP`s client representative and project manager – to develop its design to RIBA Stage D.
Up to five architectural practices will be shortlisted for the design phase of the competition, and the deadline for expressions of interest is 2pm on Thursday 11 September 2008.
