The “AI in Practice Competition” challenges architects and designers from around the world to conceptualize a landmark building in the heart of London. The concept should be a harmonious blend of innovation and heritage, reflecting the dynamic essence of London’s architectural landscape.
Description
The “AI in Practice Competition,” is an prestigious event sponsored by Studio Tim Fu, where architects and designers from across the globe will explore the intersection of AI and architectural design. This competition challenges participants to conceptualize a landmark architecture (such as an iconic residential building or a mixed-use tower with a retail podium, etc.) in the heart of London, blending modern innovation with the city’s rich architectural heritage.
Challenge Topic

Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Design & Aesthetics: How visually compelling and cohesive is the design?
- Feasibility & Realism: Can the design be realistically constructed?
- AI Workflow Innovation: How creatively and effectively has AI been utilized?
- Originality: How unique and inventive is the concept?
- Adherence to Client Brief: How closely does the design follow the competition brief?

Tim Fu
Tim Fu is a renowned architectural designer specializing in advanced computation and artificial intelligence (AI). Emerging from Zaha Hadid Architects, he founded Studio Tim Fu, a high-tech architectural practice pioneering the integration of AI into visionary design. As an active educator, Tim has held various workshops on advanced computation in design. Furthermore, he is an outspoken advocate of the use and integration of AI in the architecture industry, speaking at various universities and conferences globally. Tim also amassed a following as a content creator, sharing his design and technological innovations on various platforms.
Saina Abdollahzadeh
Saina Abdollahzadeh is an ARB Architect and RIBA Chartered member who leads design and construction projects at Studio Tim Fu (STF). She specializes in human-centric design and the architectural application of GenAI technology. Managing projects across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, Saina integrates machine-driven solutions to elevate user experiences.
Rada Daleva
Rada Daleva has been with Studio Tim Fu since its conception, leading the design team on projects across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. She specializes in Generative Algorithm (GenAl) design research, computational design, and project management while pioneering diffusion AI design and her furniture line.
Marco Alfaro
Marco Alfaro is leading STF Labs, a computational research group at Studio Tim Fu specializing in AI integration within Architecture and urban design. He holds an MArch from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and is an expert in parametric design, biomimicry, and data-driven strategies. His research includes the application of AI in hydroponics, AR/VR, and other advanced design methodologies.
