Mariupol municipality has launched an Open Call to redesign its central seafront. The largest city on the coast of the Sea of Azov and an important regional center in Ukraine, it offers an exciting opportunity for the architects and urbanists worldwide.
The mayor of Mariupol is inviting local and international architects, urbanists, landscape architects and interdisciplinary teams to put forward a bold and contemporary design framework for the reconstruction of the Mariupol Central Shore, a centrally located territory stretching for 2.75 kilometers along the Sea of Azov, with total area of 38 ha.
Through the International Ideas Competition, Mariupol municipality is seeking a proposal that will enhance the city’s coastal identity and values, and take into consideration the needs of locals and visitors alike.

Through sensitivity to existing structures and artifacts, as well as innovative new design elements, participants will be expected to spotlight this unique identity.
The ambitious reconstruction and regeneration project is planned for 2024 - 2025.
