Romanian Design Week, a 10 days festival that promotes design as a pad for cultural, social and economical growth, has opened its doors with online and physical programs alongside two major exhibitions between June 4-13, 2021 in Bucharest, Romania.

The program of the event is promoted by virtual tours of two exhibitions for whom want to experience the exhibitions in a virtual environment. 

These two exhibitions are: RDW Selection 2021 is showcased at Galeria Senat (Combinatul Fondului Plastic) and Shaping Design. Together. is showcased at National Museum of Art of Romania.

Organized by The Institute, Romanian Design Week is held as the most important multidisciplinary event in Romania, providing a radiography of the current stage of both design and local creative industries improvement: architecture, urbanism, interior design, graphic design, illustration, fashion, product design and another initiatives or projects that uses creativity as the main tool of growth. 

The theme of the Romanian Design Week 2021 is "Together" and bringing together with organizations, designers, initiatives, online and physical events that offer a focus on the importance, success and contribution that the creative industries have in society.

The first exhibition is "The RDW Selection 2021", the exhibition includes some of the best design and architecture projects made in the last two years bu local professionals and aims to celebrate collaboration and dialogue between disciplines. 

The exhibition takes place at Galeria Senat and the selection of projects was made by the RDW creative board, made up of specialists in architecture, product design, fashion, graphic design and illustration. 

The concept and architecture of the exhibition are developed together with Attila KIM Architects.

"Shaping Design. Together" is showcased at the National Museum of Art of Romania

The second exhibition is called "Shaping Design. Together". This exhibition is also held as part of the Romanian Design Week 2021, which takes place between June 5-27 at the National Museum of Art of Romania. 

It presents the creative trajectory of five of the most prolific product design studios in Romania - Agnes Lukacs, Dare to Rug, Radu Abraham, Dragoș Motica (AȘKIA R&D) and Stardust Architects, investigating their contribution to the local contemporary design scene.

The program of the Romanian Design Week 2021 "Together" festival includes: RDW Selection 2021 - selection of the RDW creative board with the best design projects made in the last two years and which will be presented in an exhibition designed by Attila Kim Architects, at the SENAT Gallery.

The Street Exhibition, an exhibition dedicated to graphic design, presented by Local Design Circle, at UNA Galeria. The exhibition is a cultural project co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration.

Rethinking Plastic will bring to the fore a collection of innovative and sustainable objects, developed and made of recycled plastic, by designers and companies from around the world. A project of Searious Business, together with the Dutch Design Foundation and Yksi Expo, Rethinking Plastic is presented in the RDW 2021 program by ASAP, at Phenomenon Gallery.

Zeppelin Design will propose a reinterpretation of the outdoor public space, in a post-pandemic context, through a series of outdoor interventions. #RDWOpenAir.

Romanian Design Week will celebrate creative communities and local hubs through the RDW & The City DesignGO program, through numerous satellite events and special design routes through Bucharest, but also in the Creative District - Satellite Events & Recommended Spots. #rdwDesignGO
