SPACE10 Opens A New Research and Design Lab in Delhi

SPACE10, a Copenhagen-based research and design lab, opens a new research and design lab in Delhi, India, after popped up in cities across the world — New York, London, Shanghai and Nairobi, to name a few.
Set to open next week, the platform and celebrating its fourth anniversary - SPACE10 Delhi will be the first of its kind, aiming to create a collaborative platform for experts, creatives and specialists in multiple fields.
SPACE10 Delhi will create a space for experiment and prototype solutions from all disciplines, the new hub aims to enable a better everyday life for people and planet.
The new lab will open inside Chhatarpur's Dhan Mill Compound in South Delhi. "We chose Delhi because we want to be where the future is. The city is a cultural force: it’s imbued with a deep historical legacy, yet a hotbed of innovation at the same time," said SPACE10.
"Delhi is full of progressive initiatives exploring public and contemporary art, music, design and architecture."
In addition, SPACE10 Delhi will host a public program, they will present everything from community talks and exhibitions to workshops and rapid prototyping.
SPACE10 Delhi will start to run from November 22, 2019 to April 15, 2020. SPACE10 Delhi also transformed a former mill warehouse, located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Chattarpur in south Delhi — adding a touch of the signature SPACE10 blue, into a multi-disciplinary lab where diverse talents can meet and play.
The hub will also host residencies and collaborate with a myriad of partners — both local and international. Additionally, a regular roster of programming will enable participants to learn and share with the local community.
"Our space will be used for talks, experiments, exhibitions and prototyping. We want to invite people in, gain new knowledge and perspectives, and engage forward-thinking partners — so that we can come closer to enabling more people to live a better everyday life, wherever they are," said Kaave Pour, Managing Director of SPACE10.
"Our hope is that SPACE10 Delhi ignites ideas, perspectives and solutions that wouldn’t have been possible anywhere else. We think India is the ideal place to explore new sustainable and scalable solutions that can help combat real problems for real people."
"We share our compound The Dhan Mill with the studios of young professionals, emerging artists, and established creatives in the fields of contemporary design, photography and performance," Pour added.
