WAN Awards is delighted to introduce you to their WAN Transport in Architecture Award judges. This year’s panel of industry experts includes:
Anthony Leslie is a highly skilled architect with over 20 years' experience. Anthony's key projects include Crossrail, Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, the Jubilee Line Extension and Bahrain International Airport.
Jennifer Marmon founder of Platform for Architecture + Research in Los Angeles and a frequent visiting critic and lecturer on design research.
John Martin an Associate Principal within the AECOM architecture studio, John Martin has 15 years of experience in architecture, and is currently the recognition through awards, exhibitions project director for the LAX Enhancements Project at the Los Angeles International Airport.
On judging 2014 entries to WAN Transport in Architecture, John says "Transport is often thought of as purely functional – engineering solutions for conveying whole populations from point to point as efficiently as possible. If we expand the scale of considerations beyond performance, these systems offer the opportunities to affect the development of cities and become key elements of urban successes. And while clarity and efficiency may be primary design considerations for all transport nodes and networks, let us not forget that there are tremendous prospects for joy and wonder." |
To tie in with the theme of urban mobility at this year’s World Architecture Day 2014, WAN Awards will be hosting a special WAN Transport in Architecture Award Winners’ Exhibition at our 3-day summit in Shanghai this November. So, if your project enhances movement, improves access and regenerates public spaces, register today, upload later and take your practice to the next level. The deadline for entries is 31 August 2014, so there’s still plenty of time to get your submissions to us, but if you’d like to take advantage of a 15% reduction on your registration fee, you only have until 31 July 2014! |
