The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (LMNA), one of MAD Architecture’s recent project in Chicago, updates with details of museum vision, as well as collections overview, programs and services planning in its official website.
Being “the first museum of its kind,” LMNA states in the website, “The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will challenge the way people think about museums.” Through unique art collection, series of programs and services, as well as collaboration with communities, schools and art institutes, LMNA is devoted to introducing narrative art and the evolution of moving images to Chicagoans, tourists, and the next generation.
LMNA’s unique collection features Narrative Art (“popular art from illustration to comics”), Art of Cinema (“an insider’s perspective on the cinematic creative process”), and Digital Art (“the boundless potential of the digital medium”).
In addition to its collections, LMNA provides services and programs, including exclusive traveling exhibitions, lecture series, cinematic and digital arts (comprehensive collection of cinematic arts, collaboration with film festivals, interactions with filmmakers, film scholars and critics, and hosting workshops,) as well as educational outreach. Through its services and programs, LMNA aims to bring inspiration and values to visitors, as well as provide options for the next generation to reach the world of art and technology.
This July, MAD Architects was selected as the principal designer for the LMNA site by its innovative approach to design and the firm’s philosophy of connecting urban spaces to natural landscapes.
The design for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will be released recently.
