Aedas recently unveiled its relocated London office in the heart of Covent Garden. Artworks by London urban artists Phlash, Xenz and Mr Jago were commissioned, reflecting Aedas’ philosophy to embed its offices within the local culture. The company’s senior management, clients, partners and media representatives gathered at a cocktail reception to celebrate.
“In response to the increasing globalisation of property development and number of Aedas’ Asian clients investing in Europe, our London office is well positioned to offer our design services, particularly in high-density, mixed-use developments,” said Chairman Keith Griffiths. “Aedas’ global platform provides international expertise with locally sensitive design.”
Griffiths recently wrote CITY, a short summary in which he presented his thoughts on urbanisation and densification of cities. This was written in view of the increasing pressure for global cities like London to respond to an urgent momentum of urbanisation as well as the demand for increased efficiency of urban connectivity.
The London office will carry out UK and international work and act as a showcase for Aedas’ international projects, targeting overseas investors and developers active in the London market. A senior team drawn from Aedas’ design leaders, comprising Keith Griffiths, International Design Director Andrew Bromberg, and Global Board Directors Ken Wai and Max Connop, will oversee the London studio and rotate their presence in London, bringing their unique high-density, mixed commercial expertise to bear upon the London market.
Aedas’ 1,400 staff provide architectural, urban, landscape and interior design services from 12 global offices at London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Macau, Singapore, Los Angeles, Seattle, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and New Delhi.
