Architects Herzog & de Meuron and John Pawson unite to create Ian Schrager's third residential project in Manhattan
Leading American hotelier Ian Schrager's collaborations with British architectJohn Pawson and Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron continue apace with the development of 215 Chrystie, a new hotel and residential building slated to open in downtown Manhattan in 2016.
Herzog & de Meuron's architecture include a private garden
Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, the 28-storey building will house a 370-room hotel topped by 11 apartments with interiors by Pawson. Schrager previously worked with the former on his residential property 40 Bond and has recently been working with Pawson on the residences at the Miami Beach Edition.Schrager describes the Lower East Side property, located in the Bowery and opposite Roosevelt Park, as the "ultimate expression of Uptown meets Downtown", add that it will offer "a revolutionary new genre of urban living".....Continue Reading
