The minimalist life style brand Muji offers its new test-model house for two-year residency for free in Kamakura, Japan. If you want to live Muji's prefab house, Muji's house is fully-furnished and including all Muji's home appliances and products that you need, but you will be monitored to provide a feedback about how people live in its prefab space. Without surveillance cameras, the monitoring process consists of talking to staff and filling out questionnaires about the experience.

Apart from that, all applicants need to conduct in Japanese in the house, so being fluent in Japanese is required. Located in Kamakura, called "the window of the house" is about 15 minutes walk to the south from Kamakura Station. Muji's small unit is a two-story house, covering 80 square-meters area, including garden and parking lot with its triangular roof, and many windows getting fresh air, natural light and temperature. It is very difficult to rent a house in Japan, because you need to have a guarantor at first, covering your damages for the house. 

But, the company's new vision is set on new experiment with housing models, renovation, materials, techniques whoever you are, family, single person or with your friends, pets, the applicants will experience new housing model for a two-year rent-free stay. 

This is not the first sponsorship model of Muji, the company sponsored to a family to live rent-free in a house in Mitaka in 2012 and the family, a Japanese couple Noppi and ToaMii recently published a book  explaining their two-year residence in Muji's universe. 

All you have to do is being a resident of Japan and if you are a foreigner you must be fluent in Japanese. Besides, you need to declare you passion and desire about living in Muji's prefab house on Facebook or Twitter and to enter your lottery, you need to have a MUJI passport app. You can apply until August 31 and the winners will be selected in October and are expected to move in by March 2017.
