reSITE releases 'Small Talks' series featuring exclusive interviews with global thought leaders and architects on architecture, culture and cities. reSITE hosted a prestigious event in June with the theme of 'Cities in Migration' and hosted dozens of experts and keynote speakers through its diverse conference program as well as a variety of side events for the general public – salon discussions, workshops, a bike ride, and a party. All took place alongside a 2-day international conference.

Now, reSITE, in collaboration with Canal 180, introduces very short interviews packed with inspiration and good vibe and reSITE shares global experts’ network knowledge, ideas and stories with all city lovers and city makers. Martin Barry, founder and director of reSITE, and Michael Kimmelman, architecture critic for The New York Times, are the guests of the first video series. World Architecture Community was the Media Partner for the event and tested the pulse of the reSITE throughout the event as LIVE, which was featured on World Architecture Community's Urban Development page as well as interviews with Prof. Saskia Sassen and Mimi Hoang.

In the 6-min video, Martin Barry explains how he founded reSITE in 2011 by bringing different types of people from all around and how their efforts have affected the city of Praque. Martin Barry, landscape architect and visionary leader of reSITE, international platform for lovable, livable cities talks about founding a non-profit organization. He also talks about how to design cities for people using parks, public space and good public architecture that integrates and includes all citizens.

In the interview, Martin describes reSITE's flagship 2016 event "Cities in Migration," why the organization cares about migration, sustainability, immigration, urbanism and integration and why things like affordable housing and public transportation are important for 21st century cities.

Michael Kimmelman, architecture critic of The New York Times talks in this exclusive interview about architecture, sustainability, public space, cities, urbanism, migration, public transportation, climate change and the role that architecture should play in trying to shape society. Kimmelman is described as the prolific and innovative "people's critic,' looking at architecture through it's usefulness for improving people's lives in the cities.

Michael has investigated and written about labor and refugee camps, waterfront parks, sea level rise and has reviewed the work of major international architects such as Alejandro Aravena, David Adjaye, Norman Foster and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. His architecture and design criticism stretches the boundaries of conventional architecture critics. he lets us know why architecture matters in our everyday lives. He focuses on quality of life in cities.

Here, Kimmelman talks to reSITE in Prague about his current research, writing and thoughts about sustainability and the urban condition.
