Exciting News from Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW)- The new exhibition ‘'Renzo Piano Building Workshop. La méthode Piano'' is staged at Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, Paris, from 11 November 2015 to 29 February 2016. The exhibition is arranged around 16 tabletop which display scale models, drawings, photographs, and videos that explain the work of the architects and the daily studio practice at the core of Piano’s work.
Instead of being a retrospective, the exhibition highlights the collective approach of the firm, by shining light on the process behind its buildings. “The agency is distinguished by its ‘method’; all of its partners, many of which have been there for more than 25 years, have grown with it,” says Francis Rambert, director of the French Institute of Architecture. “Chez Piano, the singular is plural.” “The Piano method,” collaborative and experimental, conducted by Piano’s studio, is marked by technical innovation, pushing the limits of construction techniques and materials, and new design solutions on an urban scale. Countless models and prototypes are developed in a laboratory-like setting to test the hypotheses. The common thread is a sensitive relationship to the environment, whether it means designing the highest tower in London, or a small building in Paris.....Continue Reading
