The Jan. 8th Memorial Foundation selected the Chee Salette Architecture Office as the team that will design a memorial to honor the six people killed and 13 wounded in the 2011 shooting on Tucson’s northwest side. The foundation received 60 proposals from architects and design firms, narrowed the pool to four finalists and they presented their proposals publicly. The memorial is planned for the east side of the historic Pima County Courthouse downtown, and is likely to reach into El Presidio Plaza, where Tucson Meet Yourself and other public festivals happen annually.
