The design seeks to reintroduce the mosque and Islamic architecture in a contemporary language. The design aimed to embody the meaning of light in Islam through exploring the aesthetics of natural lighting within the interior space. The form inspiration is drawn from the centric shape of the seashell, and the infinite circular motion of objects that manifest in the rotation of planets around stars, down to electrons around nuclei. The design speaks to the almost flat site through expanding the surface of the ground over the building roof. the lobby on the main floor provides a wide channel that connects the two sides of the project and creates a welcoming approach to the building.
