Conservation of archeological sites is a complex problem. A real conservation work only done when the conservator are aware of this complexity, and work with other disciplines.
In November 22-23, 2012 in Cermodern, Ankara, Turkey, DAI, German embassy in Ankara, Koç University and Middle East Technical University organize a symposium that points out this complex problem. The aim of this symposium is to sharpen awareness of this complexity through a combination of exemplary projects with a main emphasis on Turkey. The natural, urban and social environments of archeological heritage and its inclusion in the theory and practice of protection concepts will be the main focus.
