Light, space and time
The reading´s pavilion is located in the heart of the main urban garden of Coimbra. The strategy of this project was to create a meeting point, where the people can read, talk and relax, inspired on old constructions on the Mondego river. The façade´s skin, made of reinforced glass fiber panels, creates a new light´s system and simultaneously and ideal atmosphere to connect the visitors to the river. The building has 500 m2, and is constituted by: a bar, main and multifunctional reading´s room, small reading´s rooms, magazines area, storage and staff facilities. In short my aim was to play with the light, create a new space inspired on the past as local culture.
