Discover the 62 nominations from 22 countries for the Gold Medal and Prize UIA 2014

Twenty-two members of the UIA sections submitted nominations for the Gold Medal Award in 2014 and the UIA These professional organizations of the following countries:. South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt , Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Uzbekistan, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, Russia, Sudan, USA.

Sixty-two nominations were received, of which 15 Gold Medal 2014.

The jury will meet in Melbourne, Australia, May 5. It is composed of members of the UIA Bureau: Albert Dubler, President, Louise Cox, Past President, Michel Barmaki, General Secretary, Patricia Emmett, Treasurer, Antonio Raffaele Riverso Deniz Incedayi Thomas Vonier Mohamed Esa, Ali Hayder Vice Presidents.

The results will be announced during the UIA Congress in Durban, South Africa, August 6, 2014, in the presence of the winners.

The Gold Medal of the UIA is the most prestigious award given to an architect by architects.

UIA awards recognize professional architect practice on a particular theme:

The planning, development, quality of public spaces and landscapes for Sir Patrick Abercrombie Prize ;

  • Advanced technology, innovation, implementation structures and performing virtuous and materials for Auguste Perret Prize ;
  • Excellence given to the teaching of architecture, criticism and history of architecture, for Jean Tschumi Prize ;
  • The quality of facilities for communities to improve their habitat and the public spaces, for the sake of harmonious and integral development for Sir Robert Matthew Prize ;
  • The architecture in the service of the poorest and inventive design solutions that reduce poverty and destitution for Vassilis Price Sgoutas.
