A product reminiscent of Libeskind’s architecture and a perfect synthesis of natural and artificial light. The Libeskind Design Studio has designed for iGuzzini a luminaire Bio-radix inspired by his world famous architecture. The Jewish Museum in Berlin, and the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto are just two examples of the irregular geometry of his constructions that are far from rigid frames of thought.

The blades of light that characterise Libeskind’s buildings are both decorative and functional. His lines of glass in compacted surfaces allow natural light to penetrate interiors thereby creating a sense of continuity between internal and external space, and respecting man’s circadian cycles. In line with this concept, iGuzzini asked the Libeskind Design Studio to design a product that can artificially reproduce the changes in intensity and colour temperature typical of natural light. The result is an attractively designed concept, destined for large spaces and offices, that exploits all the potential of LEDs.

This is another step forward in the field of biodynamic light that raises our quality of life. An issue that iGuzzini has been committed to since 1988, when it launched S.i.v.r.a., its first research project, conducted together with the Lighting Research Center in Troy (NY) to study the effects of artificial lighting on the psycho-physiological well-being of people in confined spaces.

The concept behind Libeskind’s new product design will be presented at light+building 2014 by the architect himself.

Let's meet on the 31st of March at 2PM at our stand 3.1 E31!
