Open Call for Postgraduate Research: Bauhaus Lab 2017- Between Chairs

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation invites all young professionals working in the fields of design and architecture as designers, curators or researchers for the new Postgraduate Research Program Bauhaus Lab 2017: Between Chairs.
Application Deadline is due February 15, 2017. The International Research Programme on Global Modernism will run between 16th May - 17th August 2017.
The seating combination designed in 1965 by Hans Gugelot, Professor of Design at the Ulm School of Design (HfG Ulm), in collaboration with students of the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad forms the starting point for research into trans- cultural dialogues on the relationship between craft and design.
Participants of the Bauhaus Lab 2017 will carry out research on location in Ulm and Ahmedabad and collectively construct an installa- tion in the Bauhaus Dessau that updates the discussions held in the 1960s on the ‘rediscovery of the domain of making’ (Otl Aicher). The Bauhaus Lab aims at young professionals working in the fields of design and architecture as designers, curators or researchers.
The programme will proceed in English and the participation is free. Eight participants will be selected by an international jury.
