METU Architectural History Graduate Researches Symposium
“Spaces / Times / Peoples: Nostalgia and Architectural History”
December 24-25, 2015
Middle East Technical University Graduate Program in Architectural History organizes a series of symposiums bi-annually, open to graduate students and researchers who have recently completed their Ph.D. studies. The ninth meeting of the symposium series will take place on December 24-25, 2015 and focus on the theme of “Spaces / Times / Peoples: Nostalgia and Architectural History”.
The symposium aims to bring together current researches on the narratives and spaces of glorification and trivialization of the past in different historical contexts; and to discuss the newly produced knowledge in the field of architectural history on the destruction and reconstruction of the past with reference to the key concepts such as nostalgia, memory, melancholy, revivalism and historicism.
Eligibility: The symposium is open to graduate students and young researchers who have received their doctoral degrees since 2012.
Language of the Symposium: Turkish and English
Deadline: The deadline for sending paper proposals to the organizing committee is October 23, 2015.
Submission of Proposals: The requested information below should be sent to the Organizing Committee via the given e-mail address.
-Abstract Sheet: Including the abstract (300 words) of the proposal, title of the paper and five keywords. There should not be any information about the identity of the participant on the abstract sheet.
-Information Sheet: Participant’s name, short biography, address, e-mail, phone and fax numbers should be written on a separate sheet. The information sheet should include the title of the paper.
Conference Fee: 100 TL
